O-Ring

Overview

The O-ring, a mechanical gasket, is designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface. O-rings are commonly used to prevent leaks of fluids or gases in products, systems or machinery and find use across a variety of industries.

Versatile across ranges

Extremely versatile fluoroelastomer used in chemical processing, automotive and appliance applications.

Nitrile (Buna-N)

-53°C to 148°C

Tear-resistant and able to withstand abrasive treatment. Suitable for water, petroleum oils and some hydraulic fluids.

Neoprene

-53°C to 148°C

General purpose elastomer with low compression set, good resilience and abrasion, and flex cracking resistance.

Silicone

-84°C to 232°C

Performs well with water, steam or petroleum fluids. Poor tear resistance makes it best for static applications.

Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR)

-53°C to 148°C

Suitable for Skydrol hydraulic fluid, steam, water, silicone oils, alcohols and brake fluids. Used widely in aerospace hydraulic pumps.

Polyurethane

-53°C to 100°C

All-round toughness with notable abrasion and extrusion resistance. Often used for pneumatic tools, hydraulic fittings, cylinders and valves.
